  Can anyone recommend an instructor/horse therapist who works with green horses? My 7yr old mare is kind natured on the ground and wants to look after me in the saddle but is scared of her own shadow which makes for an uncomfortable and potentially unsafe ride when we hack out alone, which is mostly what I do with her, as well as light schooling. She loves attention and fuss and she likes to try to please, but she can even be spooked in her own field as she seems to be on constant look out for things that she perceives are out to get her! I have owned her since July last year and hoped that she would settle and relax by repeatedly taking her out but it doesn't seem to have reassured her and she continues to jump or spin a 180* if something unnerves her, although she has never bolted, and she has never tried to unseat me and I've managed to calm her down, and she stood firm after spinning the other week, whilst I got back into position in the saddle. However, I don't have the skill or experience to know how I might improve her confidence and mine beyond what I've tried, or whether it's just how she is and I'm not the right match for her. But I don't want to draw that conclusion without exploring what help may be available as she gives me a great deal of happiness and I love her to bits. Please advise as I am willing to learn and try some different techniques. thanks in advance.
