About us
My Catering Group is comprised of a group of friends and hospitality industry professionals who are extremely passionate about what they do. We pride ourselves on a passion for food and thoroughly enjoy ourselves at each and every event we do!
Initially the company was launched by two friends and longtime colleagues, Derick Cotnam and Shane Chartrand. With 18 years combined experience in the culinary industry, both Derick and Shane are Red Seal certified chefs with management experience at high end restaurants and resorts in Ottawa, Europe and the Caribbean.
We launched early in 2012 after receiving numerous catering requests from customers of the Fireplace Center and Patio Shop during our weekly cooking demonstrations on the Big Green Egg.
Our Niche

We are long time advocates of the Big Green Egg smoker and grill and have crafted some unique and interesting ways to prepare an amazing variety of dishes. We decided to team up with Big Green Egg Canada and have since become one of their selected culinary partners.
We truly love this tool! We incorporate the Big Green Egg into all our events where it often becomes the center of attention during preparation. Timing is key with this Komodo Cooker and we work very hard to ensure all dishes are creative, delicious and visually appealing.
Company Focus
My Catering Group has a focus on high end cocktail parties but we are flexible and accommodating to say the least. We will happily bring our flair to birthday parties, backyard or location weddings, family reunions, corporate events, retirement parties and golf tournaments just to name some examples.
Affiliations
We work closely with the Fireplace Center and Patio Shop and host weekly cooking demonstrations during the summer months at their west end location. You can find us there Saturdays 11-2.
