Inspiredk9s cares deeply about your relationship with your dog. When you understand what your dog is saying, you can then give your dog a happy and healthy life.
Working in the Professional Guide Dog field since 1996, I have had the pleasure of working with hundreds of dogs. Previously, I worked with competition horses in the UK and New Zealand.
My career with horses and dogs, has given me wonderful insight on how to work with mutual understanding and have fun for each dog I have the pleasure of engaging with.
Over the years, I have come to understand how we can influence our dog’s nervous and sensory systems and how we effect their mental, emotional and physical aspects. When communicating with dogs our approach, actions and voice have a consequence to how our dog feels and then responds.
Starting with the basics when working with a dog on their timeline, I build trust, observe how they learn and develop opportunities for ongoing success. Sharing the knowledge with you and building upon these new skills enables you to have a fun, safe and trusting relationship with your dog.
Building trust, safety and confidence at both ends of the leash will bring a deeper level of friendship.
Through video, blogs, courses and webinars you will learn what you need to know for you and your dog to be successful.
I am the trainer and consultant for Algonquin College Dog Squad Program. Brining together dogs and students to relieve stress.
I am a Volunteer Behaviour Consultant with the Animal Health Care Advisory Committee at Algonquin College in Ottawa and I am also involved with local dog rescues.

Veronica M. asked:Looking for a private trainer to come to us and work with our wonderful 4/5 month old Zeus. He's done his basic puppy class and knows basic commands like sit stay and lay down. He plays fairly gentle (we have other dogs as well), but his "rescue traits" come out in him, when he's around other dogs or in a public setting like a dog park (we have only gone to the dog park twice with him). He has pretty good recall but is getting more confidence and takes a little while to come back when called, has yet to run away on us. Has an awful chasing habit - chases squirrels and pretends you're not around and ignores any training we've ever done. Looking for a trainer that doesn't use 6 bags of treats per session either, lol! Occasionally treats are fine but i don't want him learning that he listens or does commands for a treat reward, but rather a good "yes"or belly rub which works great so far. He only gets treats at "treat time". Oh, and if he's off leash intront of the house, and people are walking by he will run to the end of the driveway and bark like crazy at them... :PJane M. replied:Hi Veronica, I can help you.
