Not quite Osaka but a friend of mine is visiting from America at the end of the month and I thought it would be really special to take her to eat at one of the restaurants with platforms over the Kamogawa River in Kyoto! Only I would like to not go bankrupt. Does anyone know anywhere reasonably priced!
I know a lot of places have cheaper rates for lunch but I think it will be just too hot during the afternoon so I'm hoping for somewhere we can go in the evening.
You know, just to make it harder!

Does anyone know much about Kifune Kawadoko river restaurants? I've seen a bunch of articles that mention them, but very few that actually give hours and dates/times they are open. One mentioned they might only be open May through November. If you know of a good one that is open in April, please let me know. :-)

You need to go the restaurants website to find out their operating period. For somen, it's usually available from May to Sep. Here are 2 famous restaurants. 1) Kibune Hirobun ひろ文 http://hirobun.co.jp/menu/index.html 2) Kibune Beniya べにや http://kibune-beniya.jp/beniya_sightseeing/kawadoko_info.html
