Does anyone have a recommendation on where to go to sell unwanted jewelry? Thanks!

Have bought nice estate jewelry pieces from Schierer & Popp. They also buy. Family owned, 2 nd generation. 3912 N. Cicero, south of Irving Park. http://www.spjewelers.com/
Jeweler or antique store recommendations? I'm looking to get an engagement ring for my gf. I've got some time to shop(hoping to do it for our two-year anniversary in January).
I haven't decided if I'm going diamonds or not, but she and I both believe in social justice. So I definetly don't want to get anything in the conflict/blood diamond category.
Can anyone recommend a good jeweler that maybe has some antique rings, or non-conflict diamonds, or something? I may also go with something completely different, so a jeweler willing to do that would be awesome.

Schierer & Popp has estate sale jewelry: http://www.spjewelers.com/ If you aren't close by, you could see if they would e-mail you pics of the antique rings they happen to have in right now, it's not a huge selection but I have bought 2 beautiful rings there. Also, there is the Randolph Street Market, I always get good finds there. Oct. 19-20 is a special market for clothing and accessories so I would definitely hit that one and there are always good jewelry vendors at the holiday market as well: http://www.randolphstreetmarket.com/
