If you do not have a friend or family in the US : some people just take an address from the phone book ... I do not know how this works in case of an accident though.

myfavoriteanimal replied:USAA is probably the best option, if you can get a membership. Otherwise it's probably GEICO. In the past I've done rate comparisons through Progressive.com, and GEICO was cheaper. Whatever you do, go for the glass coverage!

Strangely for insurance, 12 months was double the price of 6 months - insurance companies don't usually use normal calculators. Ours was $440 UDS for 6 mts, Canada + USA. But if you cut out the minute man and go to progressive.com you can customize your coverage to fit your needs and its a lot cheaper.
