We love where we go in Mission Viejo, but want to start our son somewhere close to home and where he can potentially meet kiddos that he may end up going to elementary school with.   Best decision I ever made for my son was moving him to a more local preschool at Palisades Methodist. And their kindergarten program is full day and very affordable https://www.palisadesumpreschool.org

  Hi All! We will be moving to the area next month. I have a 5 yr old and we are hoping to get her started in Kindergarten. After speaking with a friend about the high teacher to student ratios at the on base elementary we are thinking that Montessori (or other types of non traditional schools) would be better for her. Do you all have any suggestions of good school to seek out in the area for our 5 yr old daughter?

  We had a great experience with Palisades United Methodist Kindergarten. It is full day (9 am to 3 pm - kids start out the year with nap/quiet time but it gets phased out gradually), 5 days/week and offers small class sizes with a teacher, an assistant, and a daily parent helper (Parent classroom volunteering highly encouraged). Mrs. Brail is a great teacher, and the school director Sandy Bonaparte has been there for 10+ years. Runs about $585 a month. I felt it gave my kids a great jump start on 1 st grade as opposed to half-day Kinder. Lots of Marine families too! Good luck and welcome to SC. http://www.palisadesumpreschool.org/
