About us
Featuring two of Maryland's most entertaining and talented musicians, Girls Night Out has quickly stamped out a name for themselves for being "the rowdiest acoustic duo ever formed".
The percussive stylings of Chris Murray are second to none, keeping each song fresh and unique to GNO. An extremely accomplished drummer, Murray never fails to impress. Shawn Johnson's approach to the guitar makes for a tone that is unique to himself, simultaneously driving the rhythm, lead AND bass, creating a full sound that has led more than one person to seek the hidden third player on stage.
Vocally, Shawn and Chris form a tandem that has come to define the way in which 'acoustic duo' should be done. The guys mix motown with pop, classic rock with hip-hop and country with metal - often in one 5 minute medley.
From time to time, GNO will feature themselves in a trio; quartet or "full band" format, having sought out only the best regional players to raise the bar for what you should expect out of your weekend entertainment.
This is YOUR band, and we ALWAYS accept requests....ahead of time, or on the spot. It's time you scheduled your next Girls Night Out!
