  Recommendations for hotel for parents to come visit Bali in early December? I live in Penestanan and would love something for them not right downtown and closer to my side of town (like Sayan or off Sanggingan). Their price range: $130-$150/nightly max. They prefer hotel, not private villa. Must be accessible by car. Mom's back can't handle motorbike. Anyone hear good things about Ayung resort? Thanks!

  Hello All, I'm doing some research and looking for luxury boutique hotels in Ubud or surrounding areas. It needs to be suitable for a couple as well as two female friends. I'm looking for a small hotel that's impeccably run with the standards of, say, the Ritz - but the warmth and friendliness of any small business that does what they do with a passion. Could anyone give me any pointers? I'm trying to plan a really special trip for some wonderful people but won't be able to visit until July, so would like to have your advice and a small shortlist before I come back to Ubud.
