I moved to Chester, New Hampshire in 2010 after spending 30 years in Weare in a house that I built myself. Before that, four years in Boston where I attended Northeastern University. Prior to that, I grew up in Goffstown…. a new Hampshire native.
My carpentry experience goes back to summer jobs on a framing crew during high school. I have continuously been in the trade since the mid 80’s, first building houses as part of a contractor’s crew, then co-owning a remodeling company, “Yankee Hammer” in Weare, NH. When my partner retired, I continued working as “Robert Kordas Carpentry.” Although I now live in Chester, I keep quite busy with my old customers, but I would like to find some more local clients in the Chester and surrounding area.
My work calendar does fill up easily, as I generally work by myself. But, that also means that your project will be done by the same person who planned it with you. Something you don’t get with a larger company. I usually provide a contract with a full description of the work we discussed. The price can be a fixed quote, or by the hour.
I specialize in old houses, coping with uneven and out of level walls and floors. There is an art to making something appear level, even if it isn’t. Also, I am familiar with many older styles of framing and finish work, and how they impact your project.
Anyone interested in installing a new floor, cabinet-sink, toilet in my bathroom? Or please let me know if you have any recommendations? Thank you!
