  URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR BURNT, PREGNANT PIG IN GRABOUW After the fire on Monday a huge, black pregnant pig managed to make it out and collapsed outside The Orchard farmstall (just off the N2) in Grabouw. We tried to help her, but this is no puppy dog! Grabouw Animal Welfare also tried. They even got a pig farmer to come but the pig was not there when he arrived. Now she is back - last saw her in the same spot under the trees in the parking lot last night. The local vet does not have the equipment (injection pole) needed to sedate her. The miracle is we have somewhere wonderful to take her to - if we can just get her into a bakkie. Is there anyone out there who can advise or help with this?

  Yes I had a diabetic dog, and IMO it is best to visit specialist vet Dr Malan van Zyl at CAMC, Rosmead Ave 021 6740034. It's pretty easy once you get into the swing of things and are prepared to inject twice daily.
