Doesn't have to be in hawick as can travel to see family but closer the better. Any suggestions of where to start looking? Xx

  Is it OK if I post a couple of BnB recommendations? We came across Creagan House on our charity run around Scotland. The owner's mum is Iris McCrae. 82 year old and the very model of a Highland lady, straight out of a Mairi Hedderwick book. Iris takes "overspill" from the main guesthouse and is a lovely lady. She gave us our accomodation for half price and we donated the saving to the charity of course. Breakfast is at the main hoose a few yards away and absolutely cracking it was too: quality sausages and Stornoway black pudding.
