Where are you from and how did you get into this business?
I'm proud to say I was born, raised and made my living in Springfield, Missouri. I'm a family man with three beautiful children who keep me quite busy outside of business. Fearing Painting Co. to me is more than just a business, it's a family legacy. With three generations of painting in our family and the passion I still have for this family owned operation is what continues to carry me day by day. I've always had a deep passion for business and art. In 1996, after graduating high school I put that to work and didn't look back. Following in my fathers footsteps and taking on the family name almost 20 years later I feel I made a smart decision. Operating a business in the Ozarks has been my life's reward. I continue to grow healthy business relationships everyday and my passion for this business only grows stronger.
Describe a typical work day for you?
First thing is checking the schedule! Then checking it again and again. Mapping your day out at 6:00 a.m. Off to the paint stores by 6:30 a.m. and then delivering materials to my projects by 8:00 a.m. Lining out project crews by 10:00 a.m. and by 10:30 managing those projects closely. Addressing color samples or color consulting with my future clients until 1:00 p.m. Maintaining and managing project results for ongoing jobs, insuring the project is sound and operating at a high level of accuracy. Revisiting ongoing projects by 3:30 p.m. and after 5:00 p.m. Is about the time my clients day ends. At 5:01 p.m. I'm calling my clients to set up times to do a walk through on they're projects for that evening. Addressing projects with my clients face to face and then back home to number one!
From where do you draw your enthusiasm and inspiration for the job?
My passion for business and art run very deep but most importantly I do it for the awe of my clients. There is absolutely no better feeling in the world then to see your clients jaw hit the floor at his/her results. The relationship that is born from that if protected is everlasting and that is where I draw my enthusiasm from. There's no better better reward than a satisfied customer.
How can a customer ensure that they receive the best possible service from you?
Trust!!!! Painting is an element that's 70% prep and 30% finish. If you have five days to do a project and day four your walking the job with your client and they'res no paint on the walls? I look at my client and say come back at the end of the day and it will make total sense to you. They do and when they perk up I just say "It's the painting business and there is a right way and a wrong way and this is the right way. Day five were doing a walk through or a final touch up on they're job and they're happy! That's where I say, " under promise and over deliver"
What has been your most memorable experience on the job?
There is no way for me to narrow that question down to just one answer. For me, having the ability to look back at your work and say, WOW!!! That's almost everyday for me.
