Help please, I am very new and very green when it comes to snakes. I have the oppurtunity to rescue a male Columbian Red Tail Boa and need all the knowledge I can get.
All I know is that he is 5 feet long, was in a pet store for 2 years before being sold to a fellow a few months ago that cannot take care of him. He eats live mediums and is presently housed in a 40 gallon tank.
A few questions
Is a Vision Cage, 48"L by 28"W by 18"H adequate? Is lab grade aspen the best? What lighting should I use? How big of a water dish and shelter do I give him? How often should I feed/change the substrate? Any good vets who specialize in exotics in Virginia?
Thank you for any help, tips or pointers.
