Ok, any clue what thread size ? Have a 1973 - 9.5 hp Johnson with the spark plug hole stripped, Plug is a Champion J-6 J. Not sure what size heli coil to put in it. Any suggestions on a how to repair it ? Heli Coil or insert ?

Your local auto parts store should carry a kit just for spark plug threads. Will come with all the different sparkplug thread inserts. Be sure to loctite it in place. They are heat treated and made just for this application. Good luck! www.facebook.com/jjsmarine
