I realize there has been some threads in the past surrounding this topic, and not to be redundant, BUT I was hoping for some insight/information from someone who might have more knowledge about this than myself!
There is a homeless woman "Linda" who has been taking shelter in an alcove of the front doors of the church building I attend. Many of you have probably seen her around town pushing her "belongings" in a baby stroller.
Today, I talked to her briefly and she was very appreciative for being allowed to take temporary shelter at the building. I might add, she never once asked for food or money in fact quite the opposite! Certainly, this tugs a bit at the heart strings as she does seem to be an individual in need! However, on the flip side I realize I don't know all the circumstances behind her situation but I do feel a desire to help in a small way if possible.
I was wondering if anyone has helped or has information I can give this individual on housing or shelters? She mentioned someone tried to give her some information on an organization called HOPE that services the Monroe area but that she was un-able to make full contact with the individual who was trying to help her?
I tried to research HOPE and wasn't overly successful. I also figure this site might be a good starting point for information regarding this particular circumstance!
