  Can anyone recommend a veterinarian that also has boarding at the facility, in this area, that they love? We have a Great Dane with health issues and would prefer to find a vet and boarding that is all in one. Someone familiar with giant breeds would be a huge plus. Thank you!!

  Hands down it HAS to be Ellen Alence and the staff at Alafia River Animal Hospital 643-1002! The kennel is state of the art. Lots of fencing to keep your fur baby safe. We have three labs and they all have their "issues" and I would not trust their veterinary care and boarding to anywhere else. I've tried Boyette, Care, Fishhhawk (all good, but not the BEST).

  Alafia River Animal Hospital is wonderful. Been going to them for many years. Dr. Ellen Alence is definitely someone who won't do things unless she feels there is value. The staff is tops. My pets, and fosters who I have taken there, are all healthy and happy. We are fostering a cat and got some distressing news and she and her staff where incredibly supportive. They even helped us with time so that we could come up with a plan. We have been taking him to the Vets at MacDill for vaccines but they are booked too far out on procedures for us to wait for this. He is a small breed, only 5 lbs, so looking for recommendations based on first hand experience from others with small breeds having had same/similar procedure. TIA

  Anyone with a vet recommendation? I have called Dr. Katie at VCF and she isn't available at all this weekend, only her partner Dr. Anna. Thoughts on her? Or do you go to another vet? I usually go to care with Dr. Kane, who we love, but he isn't in until Monday and I would like my dog checked sooner than later. Our boxer has another hematoma in her ear (this will be her fifth and we have no idea what is causing her to shake her head, which causes the hematomas). It's more toward the middle ear and I don't want it to go further into her ear. :(
