It is for an elderly relative who needs to live in a safe place, which been neglected and fallen into disarray for years. Can anyone recommend a trustworthy and efficient agency or company that I can hire to come in and do the work? This is for an apartment in NYC. I have reached out to several businesses already and some only do one service or the other. I prefer to hire someone to do both. Thank you.

  Look for a certified move manager in your area. They National Association of Senior Move Managers is an organization that oversees companies that do exactly what you’re describing. You can search by location on their site, and find someone near you. NASMM has a high standard of ethics that members must adhere to. From there I would suggest doing your due diligence on specific companies/people. NASMM.org
