A three-time award- winning color master, Doree Mortillo trained in New York City and Milan, Rome,Chicago and California. Now an expert in advanced color treatment therapy and its teaching, Doree continues her lifelong passion for the best in hair styling and advanced color technique by staying current on all the latest information and trends. In addition Doree now teaches other colorists and stylists in new color techniques and trends and well as basic color education.
Focusing also on her male clients, Doree's color technique for men is based on a natural approach. Doree 'Rembrandts' or colors with a small brush every section of her client's hair to create a natural look. Doree's men never leave her chair with that "just thrown on" unnatural look in all black or orange.
Because Doree has such high standards for her clients, she chooses the finest in color products. Doree uses Tocco Magico, made by the number one color company in Europe. Tocco Magico has a coconut cream base which is infused with seven organic herbs to strengthen the hair shaft, add shine and body, protect the hair cuticle as well as protect the scalp. Tocco Magico has a low ammonia content in the permanent hair color and no ammonia in the demi- and semi-permanent line of products. Testing of the product has shown that Tocco Magico has the longest-lasting reds.

In addition to being a professional at her craft, sitting in Doree's chair and chatting with her while she works on your hair is like visiting an old friend! Going to the salon every month for color is time-consuming, but when I have an appointment with Doree, it feels more like an escape. I hung up the phone, called a good friend and she recommended I speak to Doree. That was 7 years ago and I have not set foot in that Ridgewood Salon since! Doree is the ULTIMATE Professional. Works hard, ACTUALLY CARES about her clients, even when she has to take time off. The products used at the salon are gentle on the hair and superior to any other color I have received anywhere to date...and I get my roots touched up every two weeks. I am so happy I left that over-rated, over-priced salon and was introduced to Doree at Allendale Hair Studo!Thank you for your feedback.
