  Thank you for the Add, as my family and I are getting ready for our move to Ridgecrest I'm trying to get a feel for stuff around town... for those of you that have pets...are there many vets around and if so who would you recommend? Is there a youth football program in town?

  Our vet, for a blind dog with glaucoma, is Dr. Cheri Decker. She is at VCA Crestwood. But we go there for Dr. Decker. She is great. We now have a dog park in the center of town at our County park, LeRoy Jackson Park. It is across from the fire station. If you contact the Ridgecrest Chamber of Commerce, they used to send folks moving to town an information packet. 760-375-8331 The Chamber also has an events calendar. http://www.ridgecrestchamber.com/ We have two local museums - China Lake Museum and Maturango Museum. Maturango has artist studio tours and other fun events. .http://maturango.org/ The RACVB - Ridgecrest Area Convention and Visitor's Bureau is a good place for information on the area. http://racvb.com/ The City of Ridgecrest page is a good place to find out about the Parks and Recreation programs. http://ridgecrest-ca.gov/visitors/visitors Welcome to our Valley.

  A lady at the Maturango Museum in town was the one who informed me of the good places to go for wild flowers way back when they first bloomed. They have free papers in the visitor center that gives info about places to visit in the area and what not.
