  I'm thinking about a babydoll for my daughter as a 4-h project. We've raised horses & cattle but I don't have experience with sheep. Any recommendations? Can I keep one or do I need two? What time of year should I plan on getting one since I want to start with a baby? I'm in FL so I'm not sure what shipping would cost either and would want a reliable shipper as well. Any suggestions are appreciated

  I'm in Kentucky and do still have some open slots. My website is www.bergamascosbabydollbrigade.com & my sheep facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/babydollsouthdownsheepforsale Since sheep are flock animals, one should always have at least two of them preferably the same breed. They normally do not do well as singles and many breeders will not sell a single Babydoll unless you have other Babydolls or sheep. Their flock mates should be sheep, not goats, pigs, horses, etc. The majority of breeders plan for lambing to take place in March/April and the babies are able to leave to their new homes in June/July. For shipping, do a search for livestock transport to find sources and obtain information and/or quotes. All mine have been picked up by their new people except one who flew Delta.
