i received a call today saying i can not bring my Dog back in....... last week I took Aussie in for her last round of shots, i inquired about Chagas disease as I was bit last week by a Kissing bug. Per my Dr. he will screen for Chagas every time i have blood work. I wanted my dog check and they charged me 200 bucks and i voiced my displeasure while i was there. ......fyi Southside Animal hospital charges 86 bucks....... any way I paid the 200 and went home. A few days later i get an email asking for a review of my visit.....I did and said " testing my dog for chagis..... blood test way too expensive, especially when all blood donations are automatically screened for it. ie red cross.... should not cost 200 bucks.
today i get a call from them saying they needed my email address to send Aussie's paper work..... i gave it to them...then he said I am no longer allowed to bring Aussie in there . I asked " why because of the review i wrote?" and he said YES , SOOOOOOOO VERY UNPROFESSIONAL !!!! now i have been a customer of theirs since 2006 again HOW DARE THEY !!!!!!!!! Obviously they only care about the dollar and NOT my dog !!!!

Have only been on the island a little while & I'm in need of a good dog groomer for my dogs. Any suggestions?

. Animal Hospital Padre Island (361) 949-8200http://www.padrevet.com/ https://www.facebook.com/AnimalHospitalPadreIsland The groomers there do a great job on my Husky, and a Schnauzer that we used to have. Their prices are relatively the same prices as in town, but without the fuel costs and logistical hassle. Plus, if there's any issue whatsoever, the best Vet in town is right there. One time, while grooming my Husky, the groomers and Vet Techs noticed an internal swelling problem that was not visible with her fur long. They showed Dr. Kresser, the Vet. She showed me, and we started treatment. My Husky recovered completely and we avoided what could have been a much more serious issue - because the Vet knows my dog, and she was right on it. And by the way, beware of any person associated with another grooming startup, who probably doesn't live on the Island, who has probably never been to the Animal Hospital of Padre Island, and who doesn't get the name right nor the spelling. The Animal Hospital of Padre Island has a great and caring staff with lots of experience and knowledge, the best Vet in town, and they're right here on the Island.

We just adopted a rescue dog that needs a haircut & are looking for a gentle, reasonably priced dog groomer. Any suggestions?

I take our 2 Shih Tzus over to Padre Pet Hospital. They do a great job and I think they are really reasonable on prices. They do give discounts for rescued babies...361-949-8200.
