Have been partially solar powered for a few years now, and the first batch of batteries are at the end of their lifespan. I have been using Trojan T-105 batteries, which were very common and easily available here in Nicaragua.
Until now.
Have been trying all the usual "Solar" stores in Managua: Technosol, Era Solar, Ecami, etc, but now they practically pretend that they never existed. No one has them in stock, and 2 places said the would order them, with the usual promise of 6-8 weeks, which from experience here, often means 6-8 months. But they want full payment, in advance. That seems ridiculous for a store that normally stocked them, to ask a customer who has spent more than $10,000 (at Tecnosol) to do. I could see a deposit, but laying out more than $3,000 in advance for what has always been a common in-stock item seems nuts to me.
Does anyone know of solar supply stores in Nicaragua that might carry these batteries? This particular model is probably one of the most popular and commonly chosen ones on the market, and until recently were at all the solar places I've been in Managua. I've been very happy with them, but am open to others, if considered to be at least as well rated.
If I can't find them here, I'll have to look at shipping them in from the states.
Thanks in advance!
