  I'm taking my family out for lunch a week on Saturday for my Mum's 76th birthday. My parents are not keen on foreign food. Could anyone recommend a good, fairly quiet restaurant or gastropub within about 20 mins' drive of Walthamstow that serves mainly British food, please?

  If your parents are traditional like mine, I wouldn't recommend the chequers to be honest. It's not very clean or comfortable. (Just my opinion) The VK in the village is good, I'm sure others will have more suggestions.

I booked into Leyton Technical for 24 people for food this Saturday and now two days before they have let me down. which is really disappointing as they had everything under one roof (food, drink, and music) I now have to find a place to eat that can fit us all in in such short notice, that's a bit quirky and that suits everyone's taste.
