Just wondering of anyone has used a private lactation consultant before? If so what was it like? How much did it cost? What was really beneficial about it? Would love to know more about anyone's experiences!

Yes, I did and it was worthwhile. My daughter was making a clicking sound while feeding and I saw Mary Claire http://www.breastfeed.co.nz It was 7 years ago now so can't remember too much but I know that she was very helpful :) and I went on to feed for 18 months

Yes Liz I've been using Cheryl Ganly Lewis this time round for a very difficult feeder ! She is $80 per hour and worth it, if you want to breastfeed and having difficulties that even a midwife (ahem) can't work out ;)
