Our Lady’s Inn is a residential maternity shelter for pregnant women who are homeless and for their dependent children. With homes in St. Louis City and St. Charles County, this past year we provided emergency shelter and long-term aftercare services for a total of 633 women and children. Without our care, the majority of these families would have remained homeless. Our goals extend beyond dealing with the immediate crisis of homelessness – we seek to help families transition out of crisis and move toward stability. However, many barriers complicate this path. Women without a high school diploma or GED, without marketable employment skills, lacking coping skills to handle behavioral health issues, recovering from addiction and/or suffering the effects of domestic violence, require intense, professional services. Homeless mothers find the help they need at Our Lady’s Inn where trained, professional staff and high-quality supportive services are designed to address specific needs.
