  My neighbor has two large holes in her roof, and a 4 racoons have taken up residence in her attic. I want to help her but I am a novice (I would just call my landlord :)). Any recommendations on a good pest control and/or roof repair company, or general advice on this type of situation? I read that her homeowners insurance could help cover the cost? I don't know her well, but I think she needs help.

  The Wisconsin Humane Society (wihumane.org) has practical and effective tips on their website and phone lines for getting raccoons out of a home. Please check there before contacting a "pest removal service."
