Collected money under pretense to buy materials which were never purchased. --- In June 2019 we hired Tony Graves of Home Enhancements LLC for a bathroom remodel and in July we made a downpayment with Tony to begin work on the bathroom. In August Tony collected $3693 for tile and flooring which were never purchased. After 10 weeks of little to no progress on the bathroom we fired Tony in October. The work for 10 weeks was literally one or two half days per week with work never starting until lunch time and more excuses and missed days and weeks than actual work. The only real work was a partially and very badly installed wedi shower board on two walls. The shower base curb and 1/2 wall for glass enclosure were never completed. Very questionable to begin wedi board wall prep before shower base and 1/2 wall completed. There was also insufficient framing installed to hold the wedi board and shower glass. There was maybe 2 days of work on the partial shower install which needed to be torn out. We requested the money for materials to be refunded (Tony never purchased materials for $3693). Tony has been unwilling to refund the money he clearly claimed was to purchase materials. The downpayment to Tony should have been sufficient or exceeded the actual work started. For 8 weeks in October until December we requested a refund for materials but after several emails, text messages, and phone calls Tony denies any responsibility for a refund. Tony seemed dismissive when we discussed contractor theft and fraud denying wrongdoing. Multiple websites for Tony list a cell number to draw new customers.
