  Is there some magic trick to getting services you need for your child? I have been waiting for weeks, I've been blown off by early steps. my baby is blind is one years old and cannot do anything really without my help. He doesn't do any of the things that other one year olds are supposed to, I keep reading this book division of blind services gave me and it keeps reitterating how important it is for early intervention AND that a blind child still needs to be held to mile stones. The only therapist who works with DBS in my area will not call me back no matter how many organizations tell her too and she seems to be linked with ALL of them. No one will help me!! how can I find an occupational therapist without going through the state? the state and DBS won't help me so I need help finding a therapist in Lee county Florida. Also if anyone has information on how to receive services we should already be getting that would be very helpful. I've been on the phone all mourning and I keep getting answering services and machines. I was granted a rare day off from work due to a power outtage and figured I might be able to help my son find help but am getting no where. I know nothing about blindness other than what I've read so far in this book..I've never so much as met someone who is blind.....-frusterated, tired and angry in florida ~ nicole
