About us

I have loved looking through the lens of a camera for as long as I can remember. The summer before my 8th grade year I was allowed to go to Australia with People to People. It was an amazing experience and I wanted to capture every moment. I was shooting with film so as soon as I arrived home I sent them off to be developed. I entered a few into some art contests getting 1st place with a couple. I was only 13 at the time and it gave me some much needed confidence I had been missing. Just about a year later; 9th grade; I signed up for yearbook. I was a sports photographer and worked on page layouts; my first real taste of graphic design. Being a sports photographer I learned the value of just one second, anything can happen so be prepared!

During my Junior and High School years I took as many art courses the schools would allow let alone trying to include art and design any way I could into my regular courses on special projects and such.

One would think I already knew what it was I was wanting to go to college for. Again I loaded up on Design and Art courses. Took some teaching courses and nursing courses still not completely sure how I was ever going to figure out one path. I didn't even think of art as a career until one semester when I was flipping through the course catalogue trying to decide on which courses I wanted to take for the following semester. I stumbled upon my future! AAS in Graphic Design!

To be honest I never fully enjoyed school. Yeah I made mostly A's and a few B's but when I was allowed to take all art courses in one semester... I was in HEAVEN! One of my first art courses was Black and White Darkroom photography. I had absolutely no idea that I would actually get to develop my own film, make contact sheets, test strips, then the masterpiece! I would lose myself in my art. Be there working for hours and hours and it only feel like maybe 30 minutes had gone by; now that's the kind of career I want!

Advanced Digital photography, & Color Studies are just a few of the courses I owe my talent and success to. Photography isn't just aiming and shooting; well I guess it could be but that's not my kind of photography. I've learned many things regarding photography such as lighting, colors and how they play off one another (this is why 75% of my closet is black attire), positioning/poses, angles (if you don't see me lay on the ground at least once during your photo shoot something must be extremely wrong with me...call an ambulance), editing(this is where I really lose track of time) and photo restoration (if you have a photo from the 50's, 40's, whenever it may be with water damage, creases, rips, sun exposure damage, tears and or whatever has made it just not the same I can fix it! I can restore those memories for you) are just a few.

Nearing the end of reaching my degree I took an internship with LiveTree. I realized I could do both design and photography they go hand in hand. I could still design t-shirts, logos, business cards, special events invitations, flyers, websites, and photography. I can do it all.

December 2012 I had earned my degree in AAS Graphic Design! Plus the abundance of knowledge from my many professors!

Discovering this career path is something I treasure because I'm getting to do what I love! Getting completely lost in my photography is what makes it so enjoyable. I'm a perfectionist and this trait alone accounts for a major portion of my success thus far and will most likely continue to add to the quality of every photo I ever capture.
