I recently saw your ad about kittens and wanted to tell you about our desexing subsidy. If you have a pension or health care card CAA will desex female cats for $70 and female dogs for $90. You will find details on our website www.capricornanimalaid.org.au Can you pass this onto anyone taking a female kitten please. Could also be used for the mother cat :)

  hello, i am seeking some information, how do we go about getting our vets to offer cheaper desexing? is there goverment funding available to help pursuade them? or is there a mobile vet/rspca etc that could come to our area offering these services? we are in the emerald area in qld, we have no rspca and the pound services are very limited to say the least, we have a major feral cat problem in this area also, any advice would be excellent thankyou

  Hi Kate, we do not have any NDN Vets in Emerald unfortunately. We do have a Vet in Burua which is 1 hr south of Rockhampton (near Gladstone). They offer discount desexing for people who hold a concession card. Also Capricorn Animal Aid in Rockhampton will assist with desexing if you also hold a concession card. Their website is www.capricornanimalaid.org.au. You could also contact your local Council or approach your local Vets. There is no Government funding to persuade them unfortunately !!
