  QUESTION FROM NAOMI: Hello Everyone......I'm looking for some advice and am hoping someone might be able to help please! I'm looking for a training course (non-online) which will offer my family detailed information re allergies and anaphylaxis, reading labels, asministering epipens, etc. I want to make sure that my son is safe when staying with his grandparents, and I think formal training is tge only solution. There seem to be quite a few different courses available, but I'm looking for a personal recomendation if anyone has experience please. Anything in/around London is ideal. Many thanks! Naomi x

  Hi my daughter who is now 2 has been dairy free since 8 months and we have been told now, to keep her dairy free till she is 3 before trying to reintroduce dairy to her. However we are going on a family holiday to France in August and just wondered if anyone had any advice on where to shop or any French brand names to look for dairy free foods? Also I no the French for milk but not to whey etc so any help on that would be great too? Thank you x

  Can anyone recommend a travel insurance that covers anaphylaxis? My daughter is anaphylactic to nuts and cats. She's had an anaphylactic shock recently and when I declare this on medical insurance quotes they wont cover her? I've tried a few now. I wondered if anyone else has had this trouble?

  Hi Alison, Thank you for contacting Allergy UK. What symptoms is your baby getting? To go privately, you would still need a GP referral and they are reluctant to see children under the age of 3. Allergy testing is NOT 100% accurate and history taking is key to diagnosing allergy, the tests are just guides. If you would like to talk to one of our helpline advisors, please ring us at 01322 619 898. They are incredibly helpful and willing to help people like yourself.

  One of our helpline advisors had this to say: "She shouldn’t be afraid to try new foods. They should be introduced one at a time, with a gap of 3 days in between each new food, so that it is easier to identify any food that causes a reaction. Once your baby has had several attempts at eating the individual foods, you can start mixing them to increase the variety and enjoyment of eating." We also strongly recommend you give our helpline a call - they will gladly help you and have a good conversation with you regarding this. 01322 619 898 I hope this helps Alison :)
