We hired Thomas Allport Maintenance and Handyman Services to screw plastic corrugated roof panels into the beams that comprise the top of our existing wooden pergola. Tom made no measurements to align the screws with the beams, drilling 25 unnecessary holes in the panels, with screws going straight through the panels and missing the beams completely, or screws going diagonally through the sides of beams and splintering them in more than 12 places, or screws going awry through the thin strips of latticework in between the beams, making unnecessary holes in our latticework and leaving the bottom halves of the screws exposed. Twice, Tom attempted to patch his holes in the corrugated panels, but the poor quality silicone he chose would not dry, so rain washed it out of the holes, leaving multiple permanent white stains on our brown stone patio. We requested a refund from Tom. He threatened to report us to law enforcement for harassment. We submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, requesting assistance with a refund. Tom ignored it. NOT EVEN INCLUDING the loss in value that Tom’s damages to our wooden structure and stone patio cost us, WE LOST $825. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!!
