GROOMING: MORE THAN JUST LOOKS Dog grooming is about more than just appearance. Brushing and grooming your dog regularly removes dust, dead skin, loose hairs, tangles and other foreign objects caught up in your dog’s coat. It also helps prevent excessive molting, which occurs every autumn and spring. Regular brushing can help keep your dog calm and cool in summer months and reduces the amount of hair your dog sheds.
Equipment Dog grooming brushes come in different sizes and bristle types depending on your dog. Combing and brushing dogs regularly is essential, particularly for longhaired breeds.
When brushing your dog, check the nails too. If the nails have started to curl over you will need to clip them carefully with nail clippers, or call us if it's too hard to keep your dog still.
It's best to get into the grooming habit early in a dog’s life so it becomes part of the routine.
Washing A dirty or smelly dog needs a bath. But don't go overboard: too frequent shampooing can strip natural oils from the coat, causing skin dryness and irritation. In colder weather, towels or a gentle blow dry can be used to remove excess water and help with drying the coat. You may also want to consider a weather proof dog coat in the cold, wet months of the year. Just make sure it is breathable and not too restrictive for your dog to wear.
Fleas During summer, use a flea control shampoo and a flea rinse. However, by themselves these won't guarantee a flea-free dog: for that, you need a proper monthly flea control regime such as Sentinel, Revolution or Frontline. After you apply the treatment, wait 24-48 hours before bathing your dog.
As well as your daily grooming routine, all dogs benefit from regular visits to a professional dog grooming service. At your nearest Sparkle Dog Groomers We aim to have your dog Sparkling!

Owner Ryan Hogan likes to harass young girls.
He also likes to try bully people. Do not reccomend such a person to even look at your pets.
Wondering if there just may be a reasonably priced mobile dog groomer available in the area please ? Have had quotes in the last week all around $75 :( My beautiful young lady where I was living ( Mackay ) was only charging $45 for the lot and I am find it a little hard to come up with $75 ATM. My baby is a Maltese X Cavalier and very used to being groomed. TIA :)
