Can anyone recommend hotel & restaurants in Washington DC? Want to stay near the mall area.

My younger brother is in management w/ the Knightsbridge Restaurant Group. Any of these restaurants will be excellent. None cheap but the food is outstanding. We, personally, have enjoyed Bibiana Osteria Enoteca, The Oval Room, and Rasika, Flavors of India. If you enjoy Indian food GO to Rasika! It's outstanding. Outside of this group of restaurants we have definitely enjoyed 2 of Andres Jose's restaurants, Oyamel Cocina Mexicana and Zaytinya which is middle eastern small plates. I think Zaytinya may top my list! The flat bread w/ fried eggs? O.M.G. I could eat that every single day! And of course, my all time favorite DC standard - Old Ebbitt Grill. Long history there and unless they've majorly screwed it up, always good. http://www.ebbitt.com/
