I was hit head-on by a drunk driver in Miami and was referred to Paul Finizio of Finizio & Finizio Law in Fort Lauderdale by attorney, Chris Salamone (Scott Rothstein’s partner). This turned out to be a decision very heavily regretted! Paul Finizio missed several of my own court appearances and additionally would always be on a Bluetooth headset and never attentive in any important phone conversation. I found this to be very concerning! One court date, he sent an attorney that was not even from his firm but was just a casual friend of his, who did not know anything about my case or the drunk driver who hit me head-on, to show up in his place. I found this to be very odd at my own court hearing! While the first part of my personal injury case settled quickly only because I (MYSELF) had bmw preserve the recorded onstar confession of the drunk driver admitting to being drunk at the time of hitting my vehicle preserved, my case with Finizio and Finizio Law was ongoing due to my UM (UnderInsured Motorist) Policy and a potential Bad Faith Claim. However, after a very serious sexual advance by my own attorney, Paul Finizio, I was so uncomfortable that I had to ask to only deal with a female attorney in his office- Elizabeth “Beth” Finizio from that point on (in which I will leave a client review separately). We alll discussed it would be best. Otherwise I would leave this firm and Find a new firm to finish my case as Paul had acted so unprofessionally. I had to even let his wife, Barbara Finizio know of the whole situation. Finizio & Finizio Law, under the main supervision of Paul Finizio continued to work on the UM portion of my case as I underwent more than 20 (twenty) surgical procedures, including a life-threatening internal bleeding situation, only to find out that my medical records that I had been zealously forwarding to this law firm after every procedure with a spreadsheet of all appointments were NEVER sent to my insurance adjuster! While all my email correspondences with Finizio Law confirmed that they were in communication with USAA (my insurance company), it was not until I decided to call USAA myself that I learned that Finizio & Finizio Law, under the supervision of Paul Finizio, has not been in contact with USAA even ONCE in 2018 and I learned this at the end of November of 2018 and recorded the phone call with two-party consent. But wait- there’s more!! USAA actually closed my case in March 2018 due to “Lack of Attorney Response” and when I asked my lawyer, Finizio claims to not have even known it was closed! (Yet, their emails all year said they were in touch with my adjuster all year... and then I spoke to my adjuster who had not spoken or received any mail, fax, phone or email correspondence ONCE from my lawyer or firm this year (2018))?!! I am not sure if this is legal for a law firm to lie to a client for an entire year?! Then, I asked Finizio if there was some kind of prejudice or bias because of the prior incident, to learn why I, as a client, had been treated so negligently. I am still waiting for that answer though I can pretty much guess the answer. As a woman, I would especially warn clients to steer VERY clear from this law firm. This is not a safe law office that I would recommend anyone to go to. The Florida Bar will be hearing from me. If you have been in an accident, and especially injured, you cannot count on this firm!!! Heed my warning!! Do your research!! There are so many better and more respectable firms out there- just don’t choose this one!
