I was thoroughly and completely ripped off by these guys. I paid them $6300 to paint a small amount of the interior of my house. I did so on the express understanding that they would finish the job, for which they proposed to charge me an additional $1500, but then walked off the job when they realized that they weren't going to be "in the money" for that amount.
The problem with this company is that the workers are really poorly motivated, do sloppy work, and are very slackly supervised. They show up late, take long breaks, leave early, and bill you for 8 hours per person. And the work is _really_ poor -- we ended up repainting about 80% of what they'd done after they left. The drips, shortcuts, lack of prep were appalling. One of the rooms that they claimed to have painted was still partially in primer, and plaster patches weren't even sanded!! It had to be entirely redone.
Lastly, these chaps were going to repaint the outside of the house but never even showed up or contacted me to do that. Fortunately, I got a much much better painter to do the work for about 40 percent of what they had bid.
I spoke to the place that referred me to Oyenuga, they came to look at the work, and were horrified. They immediately took him off their recommendation list.
Long and short, these guys are probably okay for quick commercial jobs, but in no way shape or form should they be called on to handle fairly careful residential work. They are also wildly overpriced, and are all too happy to prey on the ignorant when doing so-called "time + materials" work.
I recommend finding someone good, motivated, and fairly priced. There are plenty out there.
Anyone have experienced painters who have more industrial painting background?? HAve a client looking for something unique on a floor of their building. Paint or vinyl onto a concrete floor....
Anybody know of a good painting contractor? I know a few but im looking for one that knows gel stains and is familiar with staining fiberglass doors. Thanks!
