About us
London Friend was established in 1972 to provide a meeting and support space for LGBT people. Over the years we have provided support to people coming out, and support for people when life has become difficult. We provide support via a telephone helpline and face-to-face through counselling, keyworking and groups. We continue to expand our services, taking over management of Antidote, a specialist LGBT drug and alcohol service, in 2011. In 2012 we celebrate our 40th Birthday and 40 years of helping LGBT Londoners out. Please see our website and updates here for details of 40th Birthday events and fundraisers throughout the year, and details of how you can support us with your time or money.
London Friend services include:
COUNSELLING: Low-cost individual service, where clients are invited to make a financial contribution according to their ability to pay. All the counsellors identify as LGBT and work within the BACP code of ethics. Please phone the office to arrange an appointment for a free assessment. We also offer a specialist counselling service for LGBT people who have experienced domestic abuse as part of the London LGBT Domestic Abuse Partnership.
