  Looking for a recommendation for a local company that can come and fix my roof. The tile that should be at the top of the roof (green circle) is now sitting in the gutter (red circle)! Would like somebody who could ideally come out and fix this in the next day or two, and also do a general check on the whole roof with a view to carrying out additional maintenance.

  Another quick question. I'm not from the UK, so not sure what the protocol is. We have lots of jobs that need doing at our home. Is it reasonable to ask tradespeople to come and give quotes for work assuming that we would employ that person if/when we have the work done? My partner thinks it's a waste of the person's time. But if we have no idea how much things cost, I have no idea what we can afford to do or save up for. Does that make sense? I don't want to waste anyone's time, but need some basic numbers to start planning. TIA
