The preschool program takes a hands on approach to learning, this age is seen as a transitional period in academics. Opportunities are provided to work in pairs/groups this enables them to form relationships and maintain friendships. Students are beginning to follow multi-step directions and independent learning activities. Student directed learning takes place as an individualized approach is created and constantly evolves throughout the year for each individual child.
The classroom design/ layout are created to observe, assess and develop small group activities that will encourage the children to take initiative and be proud of their work. The centers include math, science, art, literature/ literacy, writing, blocks, library, art and music/sensory. Teaching staff use the centers to fine-tune needs/ development in all intelligences.
