I paid more for this move than I have ever paid, and my 3 previous moves included 2 bedrooms and an office, so this was the least amount of stuff moved BY FAR. When I was presented with the final bill, there was no breakdown of the cost, he simply charged me exactly the estimate, even though it was done much faster than he estimated. He did have more men on the team than estimated, but still, i feel as though he saw me as "easy" and just handed me the bill. Additionally, my tv was broken during the move. At the time of the move, there was absolutely nothing wrong with my tv, it was a sony and worked perfectly fine. Tom would not give me the full value of replacement for the tv because it was 3 years old, so i had to spend extra money to buy a new bracket to hang the new cheaper tv i had ordered b/c the old bracket from my tv didn't fit. The move cost me $1800, i tipped $200. My tv replacement would have cost $450 and tom wouldn't give me more than $300. The new bracket cost $180. So all in, this move cost me about $2400. To be honest, when you charge someone $1800 to move one bedroom+office (no packing was done, a few hanging items were packed but nothing more) and can't scrounge up the $150 to give them the full value for their tv, i don't think you are doing good business.

  Does anyone have any recommendations on a roofer or contractor? We have water coming in the top casings of one of our kitchen windows. The gutters above are frozen and had icicles hanging. My husband knocked down whatever icicles he could from the gutters and outside the window hoping that the melting icicles were the problem but the water is still coming in. Any recommendations or suggestions are welcome. Thank you!

  Do not rip off the gutters, it's not necessary. Shovel or roof rake 4-6 ft above the gutters and this will stop the leaks as well as using calcium chloride to free up the ice dam. If you need assistance I can so this for you as I have done 7 just this weekend. Tom 203-241-6828
