  Well not really close to alton, but a life saving lady. Dr Penny Rowlands is in Mono centre. Shes amazing! our own vet of 11 years sent us away one Christmas as they were closing in a few hours and our beloved dog went from running around to completely limp inside an hour...We called Dr Rowlands on advice of a friend and she agreed to meet us at her clinic, where she performed emergency surgery to remove our dogs spleen as a result of a ruptured tumour...She kept him for a few days in time to return home for Christmas. When we went to pick him up she told us there would be no charge if he didn't survive as he was still quite sick but being at home at this point would be best for his spirit...alas he passes a couple of days later...we knew we were just making him comfortable and she never charged us the $1500 fee...I have also known her to stay on the phone with a pet owner as their cat had an anaphylactic shock to a bee sting to the mouth until the cat died...giving sympathy and just being with the owner...and she has taken her own horse to a farm when one of two horses had to be put down...She didn't want the other mare to be lonely and since she had never been on her own, she brought her own horse there to keep her calm.. Her pricing is amazing, she looks after large and small animals and is a professional horsewoman...competing all over! We just love her and her whole staff.
