Best place to board a dog for two weeks? Subject says it all. I'm leaving for two weeks to travel internationally and want to put my pup in a safe place. I've had him 12 years, during which time he has only been kenneled once. Outside of Rover App and Vets, are there any places in the area that exist , i.e. farm or ranches? My dog is very skidish so I'd like to avoid the vet/cages if possible.
Edit: Thank you all for the variety of suggestions to research. I feel much more at ease knowing there is a market for what I was looking for...thanks Austin!

http://www.dogboys.com I’m pretty sure our dog likes it more there than at home.

I really like Dogboy's Dog Ranch. A little pricey but I feel worth it. They require an initial day-stay to evaluate the dog. http://www.dogboys.com/
Does anyone have recommendations on a good local dog training place? A friend of mine has a 6 month old sheppard he is looking to get through an obediance class. He is open to boarding the dog during training if necessary. Thanks
New dog - a lovely rescue. If you know of a good Pflugerville dog trainer who could come to my home for some visits... please message me. Thanks!

A great local company does training, doggie day care and boarding. Our dog has been going for 6 months and loves everyone there! http://www.dogboys.com/
I need a pet sitter. Does anyone have any recommendations?

We started going to DogBoys (www.dogboys.com) a long time ago when our parents could no longer take our first dog and after one stay at the vet, she was asked to not return for boarding. It was great for our high-strung girl and the dogs we have now come home tired because of all the fun they have playing with doggie friends all day at "the ranch." I know it isn't petsitting, but I thought I would just mention them as to us they are the next best thing to petsitting.
