  Our central air unit quit working, and of course it happened in the midst of a heat wave. The fan on the outside unit isn't turning, and it's not making any noise. We're thinking it might be the compressor. Does anyone have any recommendations for a trustworthy company that is decently priced? Also, does anyone have an idea of how much it might cost if it is the compressor? Thanks!

  We just had ours replaced on Saturday. Direct heating and cooling. Came in $300 less than city wide (I searched this group for an hour and took down recommendations) 204-944-8448. Darrell was an amazing guy to deal with and even did an inspection on our furnace since it's getting up there. Can't say enough good things about direct heating and cooling. Seriously a very good experience and honest person. Our tank set up was not normal yet he was honest with our options.
