I have decked out a trailer the size of a caravan as a mobile computer repair centre. Every few weeks I pack it full of gear to sell and spare parts and I hit the road. I regularly travel to the same towns, trying to offer a consistent service. Every few months I visit the following towns;
Clermont, Richmond, Julia Creek, Winton, Cloncurry, Glenden and setup for a few days of trading.
I regularly drive through other towns such as Charters Towers, Hughenden, Ayr, Home Hill, Bowen, Moranbah and Collinsville.
In the towns I regularly visit I setup my trailer in a prominent spot in town, unhook the trailer and use it as a base where clients can come and drop off their computers for repairs (just like a normal shop) and at opportune times I fit in onsite jobs in housholds, small businesses and stations / farms when I am in between towns.
The towns that I regularly drive through I do often stop and do quick onsite jobs, but as there is already computer repair representation there, I don't spend to much time setting up the base to work from.
I repair Laptops, Desktops, (specialising in hardware repairs) but am very familiar with different operating systems aswell. I have started to tinker with Apple products trying to improve my knowledge there aswell.
I have found over my 13 years of experience being in the IT game that the best way to learn is to have a go and always be prepared to ask someone else for advise. Nowadays the best way to be resourceful is of course Google and Youtube.
When on the road, I’m often confronted with different equipment than I have normally been exposed to running retail outlets in both Townsville and Mackay. I have found it very important to be able to adapt and be willing to learn about new products and workarounds while you are "outbush". When you have just charged someone good money to travel to their property, the last thing they want to hear you say is that the job “cannot be done,” so you constantly have to figure out workarounds... show more

Who is a great IT expert in Clermont. My external hard drive, with all my photos on it, is not reading. Need help desperately.

On the road computers 0414249433, Chris. He's based in townsville, but will be in clt on about 21 August. My hard drive crashed the other day and though I had to buy another computer he reckons he can salvage some of my lost stuff off my old one.
