  You can change it too blue cross just call and ask then because I took to long to fill out the form they gave me California health and wellness but I called and she changed it to blue cross over the phone for me.. 1-800-430-4263

  Does anyone have Medical for their child? We use it as a secondary to his primary health insurance. So, it picked up co-pays and any deductibles, but since July this year Medical changed to where you have to pick a plan and doctor. This has messed us up and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this? If so, do you know how to change back to straight Medical? My son has multiple diagnosis from autism to epilepsy, to cognitive "delay", to gait and back issues, to mood and behavior issues, and the list goes on....Thanks!! :0)

  Health Care Options is 1-800-430-4263 and the State Ombudsman's office is 1-888-452-8609. If they won't help you at the HCO then the State Ombudsman will. You won't have a problem. If you use it as a secondary, you are exempt. My husbands company only covers employees so my kids are on Healthy families but my son has Medi-cal through Regional Center so he doesn't qualify for Healthy Families either now. It really should not be this complicated to get health care for kids in need of constant care.
