About us
My Name is Alison Herbert, I incorporated PYIR. I have always dreamed of a family business. As a child I knew the word entrepreneur from my father who had a cleaning business. I loved traveling from store to store every night with him. I loved the feeling of accomplishment after the job was complete. My Father was an inspiration and still is to work a lot, but spend time with your family more. Out of high school my Father convinced me to pursue a college degree. I chose sport therapy, and graduated with a 3.4 with a message therapy degree. I began a therapy business and worked in the medical fields to supplement income while my business grew. Fast forward to my favorite customer Jason Oakes. My now Partner, Father to 5, and best friend. Together we have developed this company, We consider PYIR our 6th child. With my entrepreneurial Spirit and Jason's background in construction, PYIR was created. A developmental company that is willing to take on the difficult tasks, be flexible for different purposes, and build You what your dreaming of. Now a little about the man I believe is the most amazing contractor I have ever met.
Sincerely, Alison Herbert President of PYIR Inc.
I Jason Oakes am an amazing contractor. If I was not, it would be an insult to you. I take very seriously the responsibility of completing any project for a business person that is investing their hard earned money into their home, and this company. I am also grateful and it shows in my effort and thought out plans for your project.
I started out in the electrical field, receiving my journeymans certificate after 4 years of school. I worked as a self employed electrician for 3 years after school. I still preform electrical work and can get something inspected if need be.
Then I wanted to start becoming more familar with home remodeling, so I became a contractor for Owens Corning finishing basements with their patented products. This was a good experience, and I enjoyed working with them for 3... show more
years. I don't think I could finish a basement any faster if I tried. LOL.
I moved onto working with Sunrooms of America building their sunroom designs for highend residental properties, while also building my own clientel as a general contractor.
When I started my family, I decided that construction would be a hinderence to me being the family man I wanted to be. So I accepted a position with Pace Electric as an employee. I worked there for 1 year before that company no longer could operate.
I realized then that self employment and being employed can be both as unstable or as stable as the person makes them. So when given the opportunity to bid on work for a large industrial company, I did.
I spent the next 8 years providing Industrial maintenance For a fortune 500 company. I kept on average, 20 people employed for that duration. I designed, completed and oversaw many very large projects. The large and smaller projects were very demanding. Demanding both in urgency, safety, and budgetary restrictions.
While running this company a friend of mine asked me to build their house. I told them I would meet them for dinner to help with their design concepts, but that I wasn't interested in building. It didn't take long for them to convince me I was going to build their house. That house is still standing with not one nail pop after many years. I would know, I'm still good friends with the owner. The house was a model for the phrase, energy efficient. A 6000 sqft home with a utility bill of 250 per month. Ask me how?
Since then I have been working with residential customers, and recently, private investors, making construction affordable, reliable and unique to the owner or investor who hires me.
Sincerely, Jason Oakes Design Professional & Manager of PYIR Inc.
We look forward to working with you.
