We ordered our 4 bridesmaids dresses back in February to be made before the ‘busy prom season’. As I live out of town, I arranged times with Camecca Designs far in advance to ensure there was plenty of time for completion. When returning to Guelph in June for my dress fitting, the dress was not yet started (unnecessary trip #1). We made arrangements for my final fitting to be done the first weekend in November when I was back in town again. I had called a week before my appointment to ensure the dress would be ready for my final fitting (should not have to be reminded but due to previous experience was done). When I got to my appointment, only the lining of my dress was complete (unnecessary trip #2) and it was planned for me to pick it up the following day. During this meeting, I was shown a project that was being worked on for a hair show that night (Note: further delay). The next day, my appointment was pushed back because the dress was still not complete. When I went to my appointment for my actual final fitting, I was told that I would have to wait in town for an hour before pickup. This hour that I was supposed to spend in Guelph before my long drive home had turned into a 3-hour wait. After all of the inconvenience and unprofessional business, I still paid for my dress full price. When I got the dress home, I put it on again to find out the sleeves were done completely wrong. With Camecca Designs only returning $30 for their mistake, I was forced to find a new seamstress and pay extra then the initial price of the dress.

I brought my bridesmaids to Cathy back in February of this year (My wedding isn’t until January 13 2018) but I wanted to get a head start on the dresses as 2 of my bridesmaids are in BC and I didn’t want to leave it until the last minute when I would be stressed dealing with other things. That plan didn’t work out and I am now left with 2 months until my wedding with no dress for my 4th bridesmaid… Cathy cancelled/rescheduled/changed/delayed every meeting myself or one of my bridesmaids has booked with her over the last 9 months! She rushed to make my 3rd bridesmaids dress and did it in 24 hours even though she’s had everything since February and just kept putting it off, obviously there were mistakes and now my bridesmaid has to go elsewhere to have those mistakes fixed. We have had such a terrible experience with her that my fiancé got involved and offered to call her as I was so upset. After multiple issues/mistakes/cancellations etc. he told her we deserved the 4th dress for free after all the hell she has put me through. Cathy declined this and I refuse to give her any more money or trust her abilities to make a proper dress at this point. Therefore I am now 2 months before my wedding with one bridesmaid who does not have a dress to wear. This is the exact thing I was trying to avoid by going in early. The amount of stress this woman has added to my life is incredible, she has completely ruined a time that was supposed to be fun and enjoyable with my bridesmaids. I absolutely hate the dresses at this point and get angry whenever I see them. I hate that I will be standing there on my wedding day watching my best friends and family go down the aisle and be reminded of this awful experience. It is your decision where you go for your alterations/to have you dresses made etc. But I recommend taking my experience into consideration before choosing Camecca Designs.

  Spotted!!! Does anyone know of a seamstress in the area that takes wedding gowns and turns them into gowns for babies? I have looked into Forever Loved Angel Gowns, but the response was they were backed up with donations but if I could find someone in the area, they may do it. Thanks for any response.

  I second Camecca Designs. She's good, easy to deal with, quick, talented and has reasonable prices. She's certainly my go-to for any alterations - including wedding and bridesmaids dresses. She does work for wedding dress shops and is also a dressmaker (you should see some of the amazing gowns she has made!
