OK, I need some precedent. If anyone knows a lawyer then share them otherwise please don't inundate me with sidewalk theory. I live off of a small "private" road. We pay the same taxes as everyone else in the county. We get tickets for installing culverts without permits. In fact they have no problem at all coming out to write citations for permit issues but refuse to clear out the ditches or patrol the street even once a week with a deputy. I understand they don't want to fix our road and we do our best but drainage is flood control and they have a department for that. We are a small community of very hard working poor folk and they act like we are a gated community. I need to know if there is a precedent for making them handle basic services such as drainage even on a private street.
Thanks and forgive my opening comment, I have heard a lot of opinions and they all differ, what I need now is legal precedent.
