Does anyone know out there what is the "competitive" real estate commision in selling a home currently in NJ?

The average is 5%. Some will do it as low as 4% but you risk some realtors not showing your property. 5 is fair for both home owner and broker. The amount of monies that it cost to property advertise your home is costly but necessary. You would want to make sure your home is seen by every single buyer out there so that you can ensure you get the most money for your home. Sometimes when you pay less, you might get less. You also want to make sure you pick a realtor that is going to advertise the way they promise as well as doing the leg work that is required. You also want to make sure that your home is property priced. A proper CMA ( market analysis ) is necessary to find the true value of your home.
